TJIS is a tertiary training institution headquartered in Maji ya Chai, Arusha City. The institute is registered under The Business Names (Registration) Ordinance (Cap 213) with registration number 213479, and also registered by NACTVET under number REG/BTP/086P.
In terms of affiliation with professional bodies, TJIS is an active member of Media Council of Tanzania (MCT). TJIS was born following needs assessment indicating critical shortage of quality training institutions in Tanzania and shortage of qualified personnel with technical skills on a number of professional programs.
Since 2011, TJIS has been offering courses in Journalism, ICT, Community Development, Hotel Management and Tour guiding at Certificate and Diploma levels. We recognize existence of many tertiary training institutions in the country but we distinguish ourselves by focusing on quality education, relevant programs, and facilitating job creation.

About Us
Triple J Institute of Social Studies (TJIS) is a newly established training college with its headquarters in Arusha City – Tanzania. TJIS offers courses on media and community development at certificate and Diploma levels. It also provides superior consulting services in a number of disciplines among others documentation of best practices and success stories, research, shooting and editing. TJIS was established in 2010 and got registered on 4th day of November 2010, with BRELA under the Business Names (registration) Ordinance (Cap 213) with registration number 213479. It was latter registered with the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and given number REG/BTP/086P in 2017. TJIS is under the Advisory Board, which was formed in 2016 by the founders of the same. It also has the management team which is lead by the Institute’s Principal. TJIS brings a fresh and innovative approach to consulting services, acting as liaison between the end-user and the producer. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of every client by offering outstanding customer service, increased flexibility, and greater value, thus leading in the area of video production industry and in delivering skills in journalism, broadcasting and community development, particularly offering courses on entrepreneurship skills, project planning and management, micro finance and financial institutions etc. TJIS in all these areas mentioned above are distinguished by their practical and technical expertise combined with their hands-on experience, thereby ensuring that our clients receive the most effective and professional service. Location: TJIS is located at Maji ya Chai, Kimandafu village, close to Njia ya Ng'ombe Petrol Station. It is 25 kms from Arusha Bus terminal for travelers from Arusha to Moshi or Moshi - Arusha. Visitors can alight at Marooni bus stop along Arusha–Moshi road. It is about 400 meters from Marooni bus stop to the college.
